Eh.. OMG! WTF?!

Well, I was trying to migrate to Joomla 1.5.2 last night, downloaded most of the backup files and then deleted everything in the server.
Suddenly, OMG! WTF?! Forgot the /images/ folder! Damn.. (3x)

We, the admins of Joomla-My have been monitoring the Malaysian Joomla! Community since the day of its birth on the internet. I found out that relatively significant number of users there are still in the dark with regard to choosing a good webhost for their website. It should be noted that these users are making their first ever live website and relatively inexperienced with web development. Soon after, I created a forum category meant solely for users to write a review of their past & present webhost so that we as a community can help each other. What I wrote hereafter is a recollection of experience and thoughts that might help some of you in deciding your new webhost.

A site Revamped

The Malay College Class of 2004 official website, is my first ever website, built in 2004 using Mambo 4.5. It has gone thru numerous changes ranging from the template, to the Content Management System of choice. In 2005, I migrated the website to Joomla 1.0.4 which was quite a gamble back then. There were a lot of uncertainty, whether to stay with Mambo or to declare allegiance with its fork brother, Joomla. Thank god I made the right decision.
