• Dynamic SEF Blog heading. Available if your server support for PHP GD and Freetype Library. Required a working fonts inside the public webfonts directory.
• jQuery ScrollTo (Jquery plugin by Ariel Flesler) bind to all post links with ’scroll-to’ class name attributes selector.
• jQuery simple Tool Tips bind to all post links with ‘ttip’ class name selector and ‘external’ rel selector (target elements must have title attributes for this to work).
• WordPress categories widget hack. This feature will update all WP categories widgets to jQuery Treeview folding list style (jQuery plugin by Jörn Zaefferer). The ’show category children’ widget category options must be enabled for this function to work.
• Most downloads widget (WP-Download Manager by Lester Chan) will automatically append to your custom download page sidebar.
• Translator widget (Global Translator by David Pozza) will automatically append to singular page sidebar.
• Auto append PICS (W3C standards for filtering content) meta-links this options is available at “Theme options » Extra metadata” when you upload labels.rdf on your blog’s root directory.
• Frame breaker, enabling this option will break all client view inside frameset or iframe.

I actually made this little feature for separating WordPress client pingback and trackback comments. I’m positive that you can also used it for comparing real trackback from spammer.

According to my made-in-france bot tracker, libwww-perl is the most abused clients for sending code injection and Jakarta Commons-HttpClient is largely used for sending trackback SPAM.

90% are trackbacks spam

Simple rules

User agent string can be easily spoof so the target victim wont know the actual client. If the client is not coming from a blogging software or CMS its 90% spam oriented. And if the client is using generic user agent software HTTP package likes libwww-perl, Larbin, Nutch, et cetera it should be ignore.

How to banned user agent with htaccess

Banning these two user agents reduces my daily trackback spams to bearable amount. I’m gladly say these two user agent is the cause of many bandwidth misery. Both client is now honored in my htaccess rules ↓

Version 1.6.2 is a downgrade of WPI brush milk WordPress theme. Because of complicated license issues and some others pure experimental code breakdown 60% of the features has been taken out.

WPI is a features rich open source theme, you will have more control with content using WPI theme. Possible options include from a simple task like changing date format on single post to controlling what will be send in HTTP headers, imagine that!.

At last somebody notice the microID, I have implement microID in WP-iStalker themes since the first release this methods are good for comparing genuine user with fake one.

Watching this video makes me wonder why the delete links were places on bottom left side of the publish box (2.6 is on far right). Arguably there is 20% chances (+10 for the select-box & toggle effects) of clicking the delete links (3:43) instead of the pending/draft-status-mode button .

Overall, the new draft mode and pending review feature is interesting but cramping all the publish module functionality in one small box makes it darn complex and will takes times to get familiar with. The dashboard left sidebar is clutter with the new all-in-one-base-on-usability-research-dynamic-vertical-menu but the right side spaces is not used wisely. Feel sorry for my grumpy old neighbors.

Good news the new dashboard is getting much better. Check out 2.7 beta 1.
